What is a handshake?

A greeting that opens or continues a relationship. In my experience, it can carry play, recognition, and the seriousness of an agreement. Before we extend the metaphor to AI, we should ask who is meeting, what each participant means, and what they are choosing together.

What is superintelligence?
A concept to define before making claims
A proposed kind of intelligence that greatly exceeds human cognitive performance across a broad range of important tasks. Definitions differ, and being exceptional at one task is a narrower claim. Here, the word names the possibility I want to think about; it does not establish that a participant in this page is superintelligent.

A way of beginning a relationship by making the context inspectable: who I am speaking as, what I care about, what I am asking, what I am sharing, and what I am actually agreeing to. I want to carry enough of my mental model into the encounter that a person or an AI can respond to the meaning underneath my words.

How is this answer supported?
The name expresses an ambition for an encounter across different forms of intelligence. This page proposes that encounter; it does not claim to document the first contact with a superintelligence.
Capability, shared understanding, trust, and authority are separate questions. A capable answer does not by itself prove understanding or create an agreement.
Why does it look like an engineered FAQ?
Questions are the entrance to the model. Behind them, the container holds propositions, sources, relationships, intentions, dreams, and visible gaps. It is portable when another person or an AI can take the selected record with them; provisionable when access is explicitly scoped to what the owner chooses to share.

How is this answer supported?
The .yawn download is a public expression of this model. Private source remains separately controlled. A receiving system must actually support the format, retrieval, and permissions; the file alone cannot enforce a recipient's behavior or guarantee later recall.
What would make the handshake real?
Proposed test
Make a bounded request, let the other participant reflect its meaning back, correct misunderstandings, and record the commitments each side actually accepts. Name what may be shared, what actions are authorized, how access can be revoked, who is responsible, and how the outcome will be checked. Add participant can record source scope; an AI's execution still needs its own authorization.

What are we still trying to discover?
Can a container preserve enough context for another participant to respond usefully while leaving private details private? Can we detect a misunderstanding before acting? What would count as a meaningful agreement with an AI? These are questions to test. My dream belongs in the model alongside the limits of what we have demonstrated.
